Herd History
There are a couple of reasons why the above logo was chosen for Eleamo Saanens. As we all know, there are many keys to making all of this come together and fit. We happen to favor these few, maybe because the three does that make up the foundation of our current animals happen to be named Faith, Hope and Charity help to sway us that way. At any rate, we thought it fit. We met Earl and his wife Diana about two years ago just by chance of an ad in the local bulletin advertising hay for sale. That was the beginning of a great kindred friendship that we deeply cherish. Earl had been out of Saanens for several years but soon decided to get more. His goat roots go back to West Texas where he first started with Saanens back in 1967. Back then his primary interest was in the milk, which he used to help feed the family. This go around has taken him in a direction more toward genetics and the show ring, which just happens to be more of our experience. We have recently all decided to team up with this Saanen venture so that we can utilize our combined experience of almost 60 years in breeding, raising, showing and milking dairy goats. We feel that we have gathered up some of the best lines in the breed for our foundation stock. Stay tuned as we try and put this all together for what we think and hope will be a very consistant competitive herd. We really appreciate your interest in the herd, and if you have any further questions , please feel free to contact any of us. We love to talk goats!
Herd Health
Herd Health is a priority at Eleamo. Each and every animal has tested negative for CAE from Washington State University and we take several actions to keep things this way. We feed top quality alfalfa that is shipped in from the mid west. We give Bose injections, copper bolus twice a year and feed free choice minerals. We are on a strict worming schedule and treat for coccidia even when animals show no signs. We also give CD&T shots every year. We have never had an abcess, so therefore do not particitpate in the CL vaccination program. If you have further questions about management, feel free to contact us and we can give more in depth details.
Terms & Conditions
We try to keep this part simple. If you are interested in a kid feel free to contact any of us. However, it is usually easier to contact Daniel because he keeps the books on orders and does all the advertising and marketing for the animals. A $50.00 deposit will hold a kid. The rest of the balance is due within 3 weeks of your kid being born. We ship kids 3 to 4 weeks of age. The health papers, kennel and all other shipping cost are the responsibility of the buyer. If your kid of choice is not available, we will refund your money or move your deposit to another kid of your choice. We reserve the right to retain any kid born and will not offer any kid for sale that we would not want in our own breeding program.
